Learnt yesterday that my Mum is pretty ill. She must have been ill as she almost didn’t make it to Bingo a couple of days before.
She’s getting on, bless her and has had heart problems in the past and has been diagnosed with diabetes. All of this hasn’t got her down and generally she is a very positive, happy, life–loving sort of person. However recently she's got a chest infection and so hasn’t eaten much; this caused her blood–sugar level hit a very low 1.5 which made her delirious and could have been fatal. Dad got the paramedics out and they were in my Dads words ‘great’. After a couple of hours Mother recovered and though very shaken was feeling better.
My sister, who regularly visits the parents, filled me in on the details and I phoned Dad to see how things were last night.
The Girl has said she will make a ‘Get Well Soon’ card for Nanny; so hopefully that’ll put a smile on Mothers face.
